And now for something completely different

A compelling, and compulsive, unusual rendition of the old Peanuts theme…

You may gather a certain wrongness about the tune without knowing quite why. There’s kind of a key flaw, there… it really requires two players to do properly on guitar.
Here’s a somewhat more startling version done, nonetheless, with two players:

The definitive version, probably, is here. It’s on piano, so it only takes one person. This rendition is still a lot less lively than I have in mind but, it’s played with absolute authority. Look at the precision of those crippled hands.

I don’t know, I guess I’m looking for a New Orleans jazz version. The standard theme is charming and comfortable and, really, entirely too rigid. It needs some verve and style.
I think that tune was written by Arthur rubenstein. It just seems out of character for him. I don’t know why.
alas i don’t know the tune well enough to appreciate the guitarist.
thanks much, man
It’s really an odd piece. It’s kinda ragtime, except that it isn’t. Teases. I love the guys in the second video, they really know how to have a good time with it. Still looking for the Dixie jazz version, or something with a bit more romp.
